THE Anti-Corruption Commission and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Myanmar held the Meeting on Myanmar’s Country Review Report for UNCAC Implementation Review Cycle 2 at Grand Amara Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, ACC Chairman U Aung Kyi said Myanmar signed the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) on 20 December 2012, the Anti-Corruption Law was enacted on 7 August 2013, and the ACC was established on 25 February 2014.

The second review cycle will review the implementation of preventive measures and the criteria for asset recovery outlined in the UNCAC, said U Aung Kyi. He said they conduct knowledge sharing projects, seminars, educational shorts and news releases to combat corruption. He said they have published the ACC’s code of ethics, especially the Strategic Plan against Corruption (2018-2021) where they set annual projects for implementation.
