Union minister inspects iodine salt grinding mills, plantations






Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Ohn Win visited iodine salt grinding mills in Pathein Township yesterday.


During his visit, the union minister inspected how the salt grinders worked step-by-step on the iodine salt-production processes, while their market and export processes were explained by the technicians present there. The union minister then gave instructions, as required. Later, the union minister also inspected 350 acres of the Pyinkado plantation near milepost (17/0) on the Pathein-Ngwehsaung Road, and officials explained procedures about plantations, followed by the union minister’s instructions, which included regular growth of the plantations along with preservation of the wild elephants around the area, incorporated with the government and the public. Next, the union minister and party arrived at Uyin Khone Thit Seik in Tha Paung Township, and officials explained the timber production plans for the 2018-2019 fiscal year, followed by the union minister’s instructions over the requirement of data collection and keeping a regular check on the timber plantations; he also inspected the timber, which has already been sold out under the tender processes. Then, the union minister inspected an acre of bamboo plantation in Thit Seik area and also provided instructions over the requirements.
