Union
Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye, together
with Deputy Minister U Soe Aung and Director General for Rehabilitation
Department U Win Naing Tun, attended a donation ceremony for mothers and
children from an internally displaced camp in Kachin State at the Social
Welfare Department, Yangon, yesterday.
Maung Phone Myat Thar Htoo’s parents and
relatives donated Ks2.5 million to mark Maung Phone Myat Thar Htoo’s first
birth anniversary. The union minister gave away the certificate of honour.
Later, the union minister met computer science students from the University of
Computer Science, Yangon. They reported to Dr Win Myat Aye and other officials
from MSWRR about website and mobile applications for the standard Myanmar sign
language, which can be used by deaf children easily. It is the standard Myanmar
sign language used in all deaf schools throughout Myanmar. They can learn it
via the Facebook page. The union minister and other officials attended to the
needs of the students to help them achieve more success.
