Deputy
Minister for Information U Aung Hla Tun met with Michael Pan, the country
director for Internews Network, at the guest hall of the Ministry for
Information yesterday.
They
openly discussed the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed
between MRTV and Internews Network, plans for amending the laws on media
broadcasting, spreading of peace journalism, developing the ethnic media,
facilitating workshops to train professional journalists and other future
plans. Michael Pan also discussed Internews Network’s collaboration with the
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation to spread
general knowledge and information in rural areas.
