Brunei Darussalam signs an Agreement for reciprocal exchange of land for the construction of diplomatic premises

THE Signing ceremony of an Agreement for reciprocal exchange of Land for the construction of diplomatic premises between the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan the Brunei Darussalam was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The Agreement was signed by U Myint Thu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and H.E. Mr Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Pahlawan Colonel (R) Dato Paduka Haji Abdu’r Rahmani bin Dato Paduka Haji Basir, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Myanmar, on behalf of the Government of Brunei Darussalam.
U Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for International Cooperation witnessed the Signing Ceremony, and Directors General of Planning and Administrative Department, Protocol Department and Political Department and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee and officials from the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam also attended.
The Agreement aims to support the relocation of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam to Nay Pyi Taw Diplomatic Zone, the administrative capital and will enhance a closer cooperation and efficient communication between the Government’s institutions and the Embassy.
