Vice
President U Myint Swe yesterday inspected a bridge under construction over the
Chindwin River in Khamti, Sagaing Region.
The
Vice President arrived at the site yesterday afternoon along with Sagaing
Region Chief Minister Dr. Myint Naing, Commander of North-West Command Maj-Gen
Phone Myat, Deputy Ministers Maj-Gen Aung Soe and Maj-Gen Than Htut. They
arrived in Khamti Township from Nanyun Town, where they attended a New Year
Festival in Naga Self-Administered Zone.
The
Vice President inspected the Chindwin Bridge which is 92 per cent complete.
The
bridge situated on Khamti-Hsintey-Lahe Road is 449.5 metres long, 8.5 metres
wide and is flanked by one-meter wide pedestrian walkways.
After
the inspection tour of the bridge, U Myint Swe and party returned to Nay Pyi
Taw by a Tatmadaw Air Force special plane.
