Vice-President
U Myint Swe addressed the 3rd coordination meeting of the 70th Anniversary
Independence Day Convening Central Committee yesterday at the Office of the
Union Government in Nay Pyi Taw.
U
Myint Swe informed the meeting that the elaborate celebrations will consist of
two sessions, morning and evening.
“Today’s
meeting is the 3rd coordination meeting of the 70th anniversary of Independence
Day convening central committee for successful convention of the Independence
Day ceremony. With a view to successfully hold the Independence Day Ceremony,
in accord with 5 national objectives, the 70th anniversary of Independence Day
convening central committee comprising 36 members including myself, was formed
on 29th September 2017, under notification 72/2017. The 1st coordination
meeting held on 13th October 2017 laid down 12 decisions, for implementation of
which 9 sub-committees were formed, with the 2nd coordination meeting held on
10th November 2017 laying down 17 decisions. The decisions were found to have
been implemented by respective sub-committees. The ceremony will be held in two
sessions, and in the morning session ceremony for hoisting the national flag, ceremony
for saluting the national flag whereas dinner party will be hosted in the
evening session”, U Myint Swe said.
The
Vice President added, “It is necessary for nine sub-committees to
systematically implement the assigned duties. Only if respective sub-committees
can cooperate collectively by sectors, the ceremony will be successfully held
with full political essence. As the time to hold the ceremony approaches we
firmly believe that the tasks to be performed will have been implemented by
respective sub-committees. Being the national-level ceremony, concerted efforts
must be exerted for any hindrances not to occur. If there are difficulties, it
needs to be openly discussed.”
Major
General Myint Maw, Chairman of Ceremony for Hoisting and Saluting National Flag
sub-committee and Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, Dr. Myo Aung, Chairman of
Nay Pyi Taw Council and Chairman of Convening sub-Committee, U Kyaw Tin, Union
Minister for International Cooperation and Chairman of Reception and Convening
Dinner Party sub-Committee, Brig-Gen Moe Kyi and Maj-Gen Aung Soe, Deputy
Minister for Home Affairs, Dr Pe Myint, Union Minister for Information, U Win
Maw Tun, Deputy Minister for Education, Union Minister for Health and Sports
Dr. Myint Htwe gave updated reports on their assignments.
The
