Vice President graces Christmas Eve

Vice President U Henry Van Thio attended the Midnight Mass at the Myanmar Evangelical Christian Alliance (MECA) in Mayangone Township yesterday.

Also in attendance were the Vice President’s wife Dr. Shwe Hlwan, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko, Leaders of different Christian Sects and other invited guests.
Youth members of MECA opened the ceremony with a musical rendition of the Nativity of Jesus. Afterwards, Rev. Dr. Dorothy Colney gave the opening prayer.
Next, Rev. Dr. Charity Htoo read out scriptures followed by Rev. Morris Liana delivering a speech and Miss Jenifer Ngun Sui Par singing a song.
Afterwards, Union Minister Thura U Aung Ko delivered a speech concerning the celebration of Christmas. Later, guests were entertained with songs after which they listened to sermons. Next presents were exchanged, followed by Rev. Dr. Aung Mang giving his blessings. The event concluded with a feast for all participants.
