Those who
do not have
any identification that shows
proof of residence in Myanmar are being urged by the all
Myanmar Maw-lawi Federation (Central)
in a notification dated 27 November 2017 to obtain
a National Verification
Card.
The
notification states that all those who are living in the Republic of the Union
of Myanmar should be registered using a form (1) book according to the
Registration Act of 1949 for all who reside in Union of Myanmar, and the
Registration Act of 1951. Those who have registered in form (1) book, including
their children and offspring, are being issued with either a form (2) identity
card, a form (3) temporary identity card, a national registration card after 10
years, a national verification card after 10 years, a national verification card
after 18 years, guest national card and guest national verification card issued
according to the rules and regulations regarding guest nationals, document for
permission to become a citizen and verification document to become a citizen
issued in accordance with rules and regulations for those who have received
permission to become a citizen.
Those
who are not registered in form 1 in accordance with the regulations and are not
holding any identification according to the Citizenship law and rules and
regulations, together with their children and offspring are to obtain an
Identity Card for National Verification or NV Card according to Registration
Act of 1949 for all who reside in Union of Myanmar under section 5(2)(c).
Therefore, all those who profess the Islamic faith who are living in Myanmar
have the duty to have some form of identification issued by the State in
accordance with existing laws, rules and regulations. It has been learnt that
the above statement further states that those individuals, their children and
their offspring who do not have in their possession any form of identification
card are urged to get the National Verification Card now being issued by the
State and undergo the process of verification for citizenship.
