Literary Conference 2017 held for 2nd Day

The second day programme at the Literature Conference 2017 was held under the theme “Free Literature, Free Voice,” at the Myanmar Convention Centre of Mindhamma Street, ward 4, Mayangone Township, with representatives from literary organizations discussing the respective titles.

Literary discussions in groups were held separately in six locations at today’s session. In the morning, writer Myanhmonlwin led the discussion under the title, “To organize a semi-gov Art Council for the Myanmar translation website” with Dan Feng and Kate Griffin taking part in discussions; “Ideas and contemporary feelings on short stories” of Upper Myanmar Writer Association” led by writer Nyi Pu Lay, with writers Hsuhnget, Soe Hlaing Tint [Yezagyo] and Ko Yoe Kunt taking part; “National solidarity and the role of alien literature by Myanmar writer association,” led by writer Maung Nyein Thu [Gyobingauk] with writers Manotetha Kyaw Win, Myat Wai Toe, Hmawwin Kyi Myat and Dr Tun Tint; “Patent and related matters of Myanmar publishers and distributors association,” led in discussion by writer U Kyaw Oo [Parami] with writers Myo Aung (botany), Kyi Shoon, Khaing Khaing Oo; “Toward Digital literature market, of Pan Myanmar,” led in discussion by writer Han Zaw, with writers Win Hlaing, Zeyathu and Soe Thiha Naung; “Difficulties on Literature encountered by Local Poets of Myanmar Poet Union,” led by poet Maung Linn Yeik, with poets Nay Pan Oo, Thar Oo, Min Swe Hnit, Nari [Myeik] taking part.

In the afternoon, discussions included titles, development of the online literature association, Myeik traditional literature and regional dialects, conservation of Myanmar writings, international literature and literary award, the situation of current Myanmar short stories, and scholar translations for education.

Similarly, in the afternoon, the titles discussed included the role of public libraries, the changing situation in publishing, suggestions on the need for the emergence of research literature, conservation of the Myanmar language and literature, the national literary award, and objectivity and the role of translation literature were discussed, followed by replies to questions raised by those present at the conference.

The literary conference will be held from 13 December to 16 December for four days.
