Rakhine State Government, UEHRD take steps for socio economic development

Rakhine State Government clarified its works with Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine State yesterday at the office of the government in Sittway.


The meeting was attended by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu, Co-chairman of the committee on implementing recommendations on Rakhine State, Dr. Aung Tun Thet, Chief Coordinator of the Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine State, Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Maj-Gen Than Htut, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettment U Soe Aung, members of Rakhine State Government and representatives from nine private task forces which will work for socio-economic development in Rakhine State. The meeting was opened with remarks by Chief Minister U Nyi Pu.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr Aung Tun Thet expressed the UEHRD’s commitment to development for Rakhine State, encouraging the nine task forces to overcome possible obstacles to come. U Kyaw Aye Thein, Rakhine State Finance, Tax, Planning and Economic Minister, clarified the tasks for socio economic development in Rakhine State. Representatives of the nine tasks forces discussed matters related to construction of infrastructures, development of economic zones, crowed funding, tourism, agriculture and livestock farming, communications and information, job creation, health care services and micro financing. —Win Min Soe (IPRD)
