Monsoon paddy harvested in Rakhine State by Agricultural Mechanisation Department

Areas of Rakhine State where there were terrorist attacks were facing difficulties in harvesting monsoon rice, prompting the Agricultural Mechanisation Department to deploy harvesting machines to harvest the monsoon rice. A total of 934 acres in Kanpu, Kyaungtaung, Myothugyi, Ohntaw, Alethankyaw, Nwayo Netaung, and Wah Cha villages of Maungtaw Township were harvested from 26 October to 8 November.


Similarly, 77 acres in Thinganet, Chaungnwe, Kywitay, Kankawkyoung, Partalat villages were harvested from 30 October to 8 November, it is learnt.

Also, 15 acres in Pya Hla, Hsin Yoe Shae were reaped from 5 October to 8 November while 11 acres in Htaung Shae, Kin Seik, Maw Ywar, Phar Pyaw villages in Minbya townships were harvested on 7 and 8 November. Five acres each in Lanmadaw village in Kyawtaw township and Phonmarkyoung village in Ann township were also harvested, it is learnt.
