Festival to Develop Youths

A coordination meeting of the Leading Committee for celebrating the Youth All Round Development Festival was held at the Yangon University Diamond Jubilee Hall in Kamayut Township, Yangon at 9am on 26 November. The Patron of the Leading Committee for celebrating the Youth All Round Development Festival, Vice-President U Myint Swe attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Leading Committee for celebrating Youth All Round Development Festival, Union Minister Dr Pe Myint, committee members, Union Ministers, Dr Myo Thein Gyi and Dr Myint Htwe, Yangon Region Chief Minister, U Phyo Min Thein, Deputy Ministers, Maj.Gen. Aung Soe and U Soe Aung, Region Ministers, Deputy Commander of Yangon Command and members of the working committee, sub-committees and responsible personnel of departments concerned.

“The President has formed the Leading Committee for celebrating YARDF comprising 16 members on 21st November 2017 with a view to develop the five strengths including value of knowledge, technology and moral in the youths of Myanmar and building the future Myanmar with the noble outlook of the youths” said the Vice-President.

The Vice-President, in his address, called for the committee members to set the policy for successful holding of the festival, to lay the programs to boost the five strengths (Physical strength, Intellectual strength, Character strength, Social strength, Economic strength) including knowledge, technology and moral in the youths, to manage for harmony between the organizations participating in the festival and to plan for the necessary security measures.

Now, Myanmar society is being structured for better a future basing primarily on the three principles, freedom, development and prosperity. The youths of Myanmar play an important role in the nation building tasks. The main intent of holding the YARDF is to prescribe the policy of youth affairs regarding the development the five strengths in young citizens of Myanmar, added the Vice-President.

The Vice-President said it was heartening to see that the respective ministries and sub-committees were making media campaigns with songs and posters for the YARDF.

The Vice-President urged the ministries and committee members to put in their relentless efforts for the successful holding of the festival as it was the very first YARDF. Then he elaborated the role of youths in nation building as they were an invaluable resource of the future State and they were also the driving force in the development works of the country.

The Vice-President expressed his satisfaction to learn that literary activities, cultural activities, sports activities, IT and Scientific activities, books market, knowledge sharing program for youths, seminars and song, music, dance and entertainment are included in the festival.

He finally advised that 13 work committees and sub-committees had already been organized and to do coordination among the sub-committees and to openly mention in this meeting if any difficulties have been encountered. Then the chairman of the leading committee for celebration of YARDF, Union Minister, Dr. Pe Myint explained about the objectives of holding the festival.

The other committee members and responsible personnel made their sector-wise presentations together with their opinions and advice.

The Patron of the committee for celebrating the YARDF, the Vice-President U Myint Swe led the coordination process and the meeting ended with his closing speech.
