17th ASEAN Senior Official Meeting on Minerals, a
related meeting of 6th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Minerals was held yesterday
morning at Irrawaddy Grand Ballroom, M Gallery Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw.
At the meeting Ministry of Natural Resources and
Environmental Conservation, Department of Geological Survey and Mineral
Exploration Director-General Dr. Ye Myint Swe, Department of Mines Director
General U Khin Latt Gyi, Department of Mineral and Geoscience Malaysia Director
General Mr. Shahr Effendi Abdullal delivered the opening speeches.
Myanmar and Philippines took the responsibility of
chairman and vice-chairman respectively and discussions under the titles of
Trade and Investment, Capacity Building, Mineral Information & Database and
Sustainable Mineral Development were conducted together with ASEAN member
countries, AFMA and CCOP groups.
3rd BOJ Meeting was simultaneously held in Maykha
Room where Indonesia was the chairman and private companies from Laos,
Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand discussed about ASEAN Mineral Award.
10th ASEAN Plus Three Senior Official Meeting on
Minerals will be held in the same hotel on 29 November and the Sixth ASEAN
Ministerial Meeting on Minerals will be held on 30 November it is learnt.
