World Hepatitis Day commemorative seminar held in Yangon

WorldHepatitis Day 2017 commemorative seminar was held at the University of Nursing in the corner of Bogyoke Street and Phone Gyi Street, Yangon yesterday.

This seminar was aimed at arousing public awareness on hepatitis and eliminating this disease in the world.
With the cooperation of the Ministry of Health and Sports, World Health Organization (WHO), Liver Foundation, International Non-government Organization (INGO) and social society organization are carrying treatment and megitating the spread of hepatitis. The spread of hepatitis A, B, and C is increasing. One third of the world population (about 400 million) has been infected with hepatitis B. In Myanmar, there about 10 per cent is infected. Prevention can be made through blood testing and vaccination. Blood testing was conducted free of charge at the seminar staged demonstrations on the World Hepatitis Day 2017’s logo: “Eliminate hepatitis”.
