Discussion held to aid the injured people by landmine

Local and international landmine risk organizations met yesterday at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement’s offices in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday to discuss measures to reduce injuries caused by remnant explosive devices.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Alexander Robert Renuik Mcaslan, Deputy Team Leader of the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development- DFID and Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye (MSWRR), and representatives of the international landmine risk mitigation groups Halo Trust, Mine Advisory Group and Norweigian Peoples’ Aid .

The organization of Department for International Development- DFID met the organizations of The Halo Trust, Mine Advisory Group and Norwegian Peoples’ Aid.

These organizations are funds supported organizations for the landmine risk cases of Myanmar by cooperation with Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement (MSWRR).

They discussed the strengths and weakness of current cooperation projects, the master plan and priorities of Mine Risk Education Team and the funds collecting plans for the projects of reducing mine risks. Also discussed were the cooperation processes between Mine Risk Education Team and Union Joint Ceasefire Monitoring Committee, the procedures of humanity aids for the injured people by mine.
