State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi arrives in Europe

Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and delegation arrived in Belgium yesterday morning and were welcomed at Brussels Airport by Myanmar Ambassador to Belgium U Pau Lwin Sein and officials.

The State Counsellor and her delegation then travelled by car to Steigenberger Wiltcher’s Hotel in Brussels.
The State Counsellor and delegation left Yangon on Sunday to visit Italy, Britain and the European Union Headquarters in Belgium for official visits.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi also met with officials during stop-overs at foreign airports while waiting for connecting flights.
The State Counsellor and delegation were greeted at the Suvarnabhumi Airport Sunday evening in Bangkok, Thailand by Myanmar Embassy Charge d’ Affaires a.i. U Hau Khan Sum, Embassy officials and Director General Mr. Singtong Lapisetpan of Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At midnight local standard time, the State Counsellor left Thailand and arrived at the Charles De Gaulle International Airport in France at local standard time 7:20 a.m. on 1 May, where Myanmar Ambassador U Han Thu and officials met her. The State Counsellor then boarded a Brussels Airline flight and arrived in Belgium at 9:40 a.m. yesterday.
