Paper reading sessions, book festival comes to an end

The paper reading sessions on translated literature and a summer book festival has successfully completed its third and final day at the Printing and Publishing Department in the Central Press Building on Theinbyu Road in Yangon yesterday evening.


The morning session of the third day was chaired by Dr. Maung Maung San (Kyi Min) and Daw Khin Phone Yi (Natmauk A Ni Cho), U Ye Htut(Thanlyin Maung Wint Wah) as resource person and U Maung Maung Oo (Hein Latt) reading the papers titled “English to Myanmar translated dramatic literature” and “Translation: Knowledge” and answering questions raised by participants.

The chairmen of the afternoon session were U Maung Maung Oo (Hein Latt) and Daw San San Nwet (San San NwetTharyarwaddy) and resource persons were U Ye Myint Kyaw (Ye Myint Kyaw), U Hla Myint (Dr. Hla Myint) and Dr. Sein Myint read three papers titled “Politicial Philosophy needed in Myanmar Translation Literature,” “ Translating Pali or Myanmar Pariyathti Literature into English” and “Influencing public literature interests of Translation team in Myanmar” and replied to questions raised by the participants.

Afterward, U Tin Hlaing (Ledwintha Saw Chit), Chairman of paper reading session organizing committee, gave his concluding address and successfully ended the reading sessions. While the paper reading sessions were conducted, a summer book festival was held on the ground and first floor of Central Press and were filled with monks, book lovers and shoppers.
