Myanmar, UN representatives meet in Nay Pyi Taw

 April 5, 2017
Yesterday morning, representatives of the Myanmar Government and the United Nations met in Nay Pyi Taw’s Park Royal Hotel to discuss plans for drafting a United Nations Development Assistance Framework (2018- 2022) between the government and the United Nations Country Team in Myanmar.

The meeting was held in order to be inclusive of all viewpoints and to focus on the five sectors of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals agenda (People, Prosperity, Planet, Peace, and Partnership) by drafting a UNDAF that is in accord with the Myanmar Government’s priorities and the UN’s system.

This is the first time Myanmar has collaborated with the UNCT in developing a framework that covers all sectors of administration. In attendance were concerned ministry officials, representatives from the UN, INGOs, and NGOs, all discussing the expected results in their respective sectors.
