The Second Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge opens traffic to Vietnam, Laos and Thailand

The Final Casting Ceremony for the Second Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge was held at temporary briefing hall in Myawady, Kayin State on 30 March morning.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister for Construction U Win Khaing said that the bridge linking Myanmar with Vietnam, Laos and Thailand lies on East-West Economic Corridor. The bridge was constructed at a cost of Baht 3,900 million with the assistance of Thai Government and the Traffic Change Over and Border Control Facilities (BCF) will be built by Thailand, he added. The Union Minister, Transport Minister of Thailand Dr. Arkhon Ternpittayapaisith, the speaker of Kayin State Hluttaw and officials opened the bridge.

The Mudon-Myawady concrete road was put into service in Myawady Township, Kayin State on 30 March, with an address by Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than.

The Kayin State Hluttaw speaker, state-level ministers and officials from the Ministry of Construction cut the ribbon to open the new concrete road. Similarly, they opened Eindu-Zarthapyin Road and posed for documentary photo before strolling along the road.
