Turkish aid arrives in villages in northern Rakhine State

Aid from the government and people of Turkey was delivered to the communities in Maungtaw Township in northern Rakhine, according to local authorities.

The second batch of aid from Turkey that included 375 bags of rice arrived in Maungtaw on Tuesday and was delivered to the Muslin and Buddhist communities in Mangtaw Township yesterday.
Out of the country’s first batch of aid that included 3,990 bags of rice, 3,788 bags have  been distributed to the people who were affected the violent attacks in October and November which killed nine police officials, according to U Phyu Hla, Deputy Administrator of Maungtaw Township.
Six hundred bags of rice donated by the Turkish government and people also arrived Maungtaw on Tuesday.
“All aid is stored in a garage first and delivered to the people the next day, systematically,” said  U Phyu Hla.
