Strayed
heavy weapon shell claimed lives of two civilians, injuring eight residents in
Hochaung Village in Namhsam in northeastern Shan State.
Security
forces conducting operations near Namhsam in northeastern Shan State came under
the heavy weapon attack of the TNLA yesterday afternoon.
The
TNLA fired heavy weapons at an outpost of the security forces at a hill about
5,000 metres west of the town but four strayed shells landed in Hochaung
Village about 3,000 metre away from the outpost, killing two residents and
injuring eight villagers including three women. The injured were rushed to
Lashio Township Hospital by columns of the Tatmadaw, which is conducting area
clearance operations in the area.
