Rice, beans,
clothes and canvas tents donated by the Rakhine State Cabinet were delivered
yesterday to villages affected by armed attacks.
Two-hundred
ninety-eight households consisting of 3,895 family members in Kyetyoepyin
village-tract’s Kyetyoepyin Ywama were provided with 75 rice bags, 5 bags of
beans and 600 articles of clothing, while 115 households comprised of 1,331
family members were provided with 29 bags of rice, 2 bags of beans and 200
articles of clothing.
Similarly, 25
bags of rice, 2 bags of beans, 12 canvas tents and 200 articles of clothing
were provided to 83 households of 3,178 family members in Dargyizar village.
“We went to
these three villages for the third time to provide subsidies. Now we have given
out 128 bags of rice, 337 1/2 viss of beans and 12 canvas tents for 597
households of 8,404 people.
Further
arrangements are under way to go the aid-needed places to support subsidies in
cooperation with governmental departments, NGOs and INGOs,” said U Ye Htoo,
deputy district administrator. The aid was delivered by the deputy district
administrator, township administrator, members of the UNHCR and representatives
of Malteser International. In the villages, a mobile medical treatment provided
medical care to local villagers, it is learnt.
