Acting
on a tip-off, security forces arrested three locals on Saturday on suspicion of
involvement in abducting a resident from Thawunchaung Village on 13 December.
While
carrying out an area clearance operation near Thinbawgwe Village in Maungtaw
township, security forces managed to arrest Harmi Dusaung, Jamah Husaung and Abu
Karsin. A Hello mobile phone was confiscated. The three were reportedly
involved in the abduction of Habi Rahman from Thawunchaung Village. Measures
are being taken to expose the crime and to take action against those involved.
