Counsellor and Foreign Minister Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on Wednesday offered
congratulations to US President-elect Donald Trump after his US election
victory.
“I am confident that the trust placed in you by the American people will inspire you to promote progress, peace and prosperity in the United States of America and beyond, as you lead your great nation into the future,” Daw Aung San Suu Kyi wrote.
She
added that the people of Myanmar are happy with the “mutually beneficial and
dynamic” relationship that Myanmar shares with the United States and that she
is looking forward to working closely with Trump “to further strengthen the
existing friendship, cooperation and partnership between our two
