Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing gave a speech at the European Military Committee
Meeting Tuesday in Brussels, Belgium.
At the request of the Political and
Security Committee, General Min Aung Hlaing met with officials from the
European Political and Security Committee in the Justus Lipsius building of the
Council of the European Union.
At the meeting, Senior General Min Aung
Hlaing explained outlooks of European Union on Myanmar political reform and
current political and security development in Myanmar.
In the evening, Senior General Min Aung
Hlaing visited the city of Antwerp and toured the famous Cathedral of Our Lady,
Town Hall and People’s Square.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party
left for Venice, Italy from the International Airport of Brussels by air
yesterday morning and arrived at Venice at 10:15 a.m. The Senior General and
delegation were welcomed by Myanmar Ambassador to Italy U Myint Naung and
officials at the airport.
The general’s trip to Italy is part of
the goodwill visit, during which he will meet with the Chief of Defence of
Italy and other high-ranking military officers.
