Pair suspected in October violent armed attacks arrested

A combined team comprising Tatmadaw troops and border guard police yesterday detained two villagers on suspicion of involvement in the 9 October violent armed attacks in Maungtaw.

Phawra Ahmed and Marmed Tarhe were arrested during an area clearance operation in Pharwutchaung Village (Ywahaung), Maungtaw Township.
The two suspects were handed over to the station of border guard police forces in Maungtaw yesterday.
