35 suspects in violent attacks arrested in Maungtaw

Dozens of suspected terrorists were rounded up and arrested by the authorities over the weekend in the northern Rakhine State, where the 9th October attack killed nine border guard policemen.

In an area clearance operation by the combined forces of the government troops and the border guard police at Wetpyin village in Maungtaw Township at 3:21pm on 12th November, 4 suspects, including Nur Bobby, were arrested.
Another suspect, Mammud Karsi from Thechaung village, was detained earlier at about 11:30 p.m in the village of Aung Mingalar.
Thirty more suspects, who had fled from other villages, including Khwelar, were arrested during the clearing in Yetwinkyun village at about 3pm.
Arrangements are now under way to interrogate the suspects according to the laws.
