1st Myanmar-Switzerland Foreign Office Consultations held in Nay Pyi Taw


The 1st Myanmar-Switzerland Foreign Office Consultations was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, focusing matters on promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors of economy, investment, education and culture.

At the meeting, the Myanmar side was led by U Kyaw Tin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar while the Swiss delegation was led by Mr Johannes Matyassy, Assistant State Secretary for Asia-Pacific of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation.
They also discussed holding of the commemorative events celebrating the 60th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Switzerland.
Mr Johannes Matyassy hosted a luncheon at 12.45 pm at Kempinski Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw to launch the series of events to be organized in Myanmar by the Swiss side from November 2016 to November 2017 in commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Switzerland.
The luncheon was attended by U Khin Maung Cho, Union Minister for Industry, Naing Thet Lwin, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs, U Kyaw Tin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and U Win Maw Tun, Deputy Minister for Education.
