“Peace is our highest aspiration. Only through peace can we build and advance our nation. It is peace that empowers us to stand strong and compete on equal footing with the international community.”

 

President U Min Aung Hlaing of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar delivered a speech on the government’s 100-day plan, outlining the State’s progress at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw meeting on 31 July 2026. He also addressed questions raised by the media. The President’s responses are as follows:

Q: Please share a message with the youth.

A: Youth need to strive for their future. Another important point is that there are weaknesses in education. Young people should make efforts in their studies, strive to become educated and knowledgeable individuals, understand the importance of discipline, and work hard. I also urge them to curb excessive indulgence and devote greater effort to meaningful pursuits. Their potential is immense, and with focus, they can make vital contributions to the nation’s future.

Q: I would also like to request that you share a message regarding peace.

A: Peace is our greatest aspiration. Peace is the foundation of our nation’s development and our ability to compete globally. To advance in line with the demands of the present era, all stakeholders must act with vision and determination. Achievable goals can be realized, but pursuing the impossible only prolongs difficulties. Therefore, peace must remain our foremost national priority. I urge all stakeholders to work together with awareness and understanding.
