Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi yesterday welcomed the chairperson, secretary, and members of the Farmers Livelihood Development Foundation, joined by former Myanmar national athletes, during the 28‑day sitting of the Second Regular Session of the Third Pyithu Hluttaw.
The
foundation officials and former national athletes reported on their work plans.
Speaking
at the meeting, the Speaker said the Hluttaw’s responsibilities are broad, and
that 22 committees have been formed to carry out their duties effectively.
Among them are the Farmers Affairs Committee and the Health and Sports
Committee. He encouraged those present to submit any difficulties they face or
matters they wish to address through the relevant committees so that the
Hluttaw can assist them. He noted that the Hluttaw serves as a bridge between
the people who raise concerns and the government responsible for addressing
them. He added that the Hluttaw’s doors are always open to those wishing to
present their concern, and expressed his appreciation for their visit to
observe the parliamentary proceedings.
In
the same afternoon, he accepted the Sarpay Beikman Manuscript Award and the
Pakokku U Ohn Pe Manuscript Award-winning books written and donated by Pyithu
Hluttaw Representative Dr Aung Gyi from Kyaiklat Constituency.
