The high-level Myanmar delegation led by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing left the international airport in Hangzhou for Myanmar yesterday afternoon after paying a State Visit to the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of Chinese President Mr Xi Jinping.
The President and party were seen off at the airport by the deputy governor of Zhejiang Province and members, Myanmar Ambassador to China U Zaw Win Myint, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Zaw Zaw Naing and officials.
Union Miniters U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe, Dr Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, Dr Charlie Than and U Tun Ohn, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, Shan State Chief Minister U Sai Htein Soe, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, officials and military and civilian officials who accompanied the President were on the same flight.
During the visit, the President held bilateral talks with the President of the People’s Republic of China. He also held a meeting with the Premier of China and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, as well as with provincial leaders. In addition, he attended a business summit and visited high-tech industrial enterprises for study tours. These engagements further strengthened the long-standing Pauk-Phaw (fraternal) relations between Myanmar and China, and discussions were held to enhance bilateral cooperation in all sectors between the two governments and peoples across various sectors, including economic and security matters. The talks focused on advancing mutually beneficial outcomes for the State and the people.
In the afternoon, the high-level Myanmar delegation led by the President arrived back at Nay Pyi Taw Airport where they were welcomed back by Vice-Presidents U Nyo Saw and Nan Ni Ni Aye, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command, and officials from the Chinese Embassy and the Military Attaché Office to Myanmar.
President U Min Aung Hlaing and Myanmar delegation consistently focused on the national interest throughout the visit. During the trip, they were able to enhance friendship and cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, promote cooperation in economic, space technology, and various other sectors, and make efforts aimed at advancing the interests of the people of Myanmar.
As such, officials of the China-Myanmar Friendship Association, various associations, ethnic children, the band and pom-pom dance troupe, Chinese dance troupes, ethnic dance troupes, artistes, people and departmental officials warmly welcomed home the President and delegation members from the aircraft to the VIP lounge as well as along the route to the Tatmadaw Airport by holding up the vinyl banners bearing “May the friendship between China and Myanmar endure forever”, “May China-Myanmar comprehensive strategic cooperation be further strengthened across all sectors”, “We warmly welcome the President and the delegation who are strengthening China-Myanmar friendship. We also warmly welcome President Min Aung Hlaing, who has been working for Myanmar’s multi-sectoral development. We support the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future. May China and Myanmar remain closely united in friendship. And, May Myanmar-China cooperation be certain to succeed.” They also waved the state flags of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China, and chanted “May China-Myanmar friendship exist in perpetuity; May President U Min Aung Hlaing, who is working for the nation, religion, and the Sasana, be in good health; May President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing be healthy; and May China-Myanmar friendship be strengthened; and May China-Myanmar friendship endure forever.”
Along the route from the airport to Nay Pyi Taw, LED boards at major locations also displayed images of the President’s visit to the People’s Republic of China, along with the message: “We proudly and joyfully welcome home President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing.”
