The Amyotha Hluttaw continued for the 10th day at its convention hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
At
the meeting, Deputy Minister for Health Dr Aye Tun replied to the queries
raised by Sai Win Khaing from the Shan State Constituency 10, saying that
currently, there is no plan to upgrade the Tangyan Township People’s Hospital
(25-bed) to the 50-bed facility.
Deputy
Minister for Transport U Tun Lu responded to the questions submitted by U Aung
Hla Htwe from the Magway Region Constituency 1. He said that due to the current
waterway conditions, it is not possible to operate a river transport port in
Yenangyoung Township but a river transport port has been set up at Yonseik
Port, seven miles downstream Yenangyoung.
Deputy
Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Ye Tint Tun answered the
question raised by U Chit Swe from the Ayeyawady Region Constituency 10,
stating that the departments under the ministry are conducting research at
relevant research centres and performing the knowledge-sharing activities.
Regional Development and Research Centre-RDRC indicated by the Hluttaw
representative should be established through the surveys conducted by
stakeholders.
Regarding
the question presented by U Aung Kyaw Min from the Ayeyawady Region
Constituency 4, the deputy minister also explained matters relate to plans to
provide agricultural inputs and technological assistance for farmers to improve
their socioeconomic life.
Amyotha
Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe explained the formation of the Banks, Monetary
Affairs, Planning, Finance, Economic and Trade Development Committee, the
Communications, Digital and Science Technology Committee and the Rule of Law,
Peace and Stability Committee.
U
Yan Naing Oo from the Yangon Region Constituency 9 submitted a motion, urging
the Union government to ease restrictions on the recruitment of youths who have
graduated from universities across the nation by reviewing the qualification
criteria for their future. U Aye Paing from the Yangon Region Constituency 6
seconded the motion.
The
Speaker announced that any representatives wishing to discuss the motion can
list at the director-general of the Amyotha Hluttaw Office.
The
Amyotha Hluttaw’s 11th-day meeting will continue on 29 June.
