Union Minister for Information U Htein Linn received a delegation led by Ms Cao Shumin, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Minister of the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), at the assembly hall of the Ministry of Information yesterday morning.
The
meeting was also attended by the deputy minister for Information and
departmental officials, while the delegation was accompanied by Ms Ma Jia,
Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar.
During
the meeting, they discussed matters relating to further strengthening bilateral
cooperation in the media sector, facilitating cultural exchanges, enhancing
friendly relations between the peoples, jointly producing documentaries and
drama series, exchanging innovative collaboration in the youth and
technological sectors, and signing memoranda of understanding (MoU) on media
sector cooperation.
Afterwards,
Ms Cao Shumin and her delegation, accompanied by the Union minister, visited
Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) in Tatkon, Nay Pyi Taw. There, they toured
the exhibition of documentary photographs showcasing bilateral media
cooperation between Myanmar and China, the audio recording session of “Fun
Chinese Lessons”, the filming of Myanmar-China friendship songs in the virtual
studio, the news broadcast in the news channel studio, the rehearsal of the
Myanmar-China friendship song “Shan Paepoat” performed in both Myanmar and
Chinese languages at the auditorium, and the Diamond Jubilee Museum.
In
the afternoon, Union Minister U Htein Linn hosted a luncheon for the Chinese
delegation at the Horizon Lake View Resort in Nay Pyi Taw.
