A total of 208 foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar were further detained yesterday.
These individuals had passed
through neighbouring countries, including Thailand, to enter Myanmar via border
routes. They were found to be involved in online gambling, telecom fraud, and
other criminal activities in areas such as Shwe Kokko, Mehtawthalay, and KK
Park in Myawady, Kayin State.
A total of 3,333 foreign nationals
who illegally entered Myanmar were arrested from 30 January to 1 March. Of
these, 757 were systematically transferred to their respective countries
through Thailand as per legal procedures. The remaining 2,576 foreign nationals
are now ready to be transferred to their respective countries and are
reportedly being securely detained.
