Illegal timbers, industrial materials, consumer goods, foodstuffs and vehicles confiscated

 

THE combined team led by Ayeyawady Region Forest Department captured a total of 0.983 tonne of illegal teaks worth K55,000 in Hinthada district on 2 May and action was taken under the Forest Law.


The combined team led by Shan State Customs Department under the supervision of Shan State Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force confiscated 20 kinds of liquor, including 60 bottles of Royal Solute Blended Scotch Whisky, worth K329.788 million, four kinds of goods, including male sandals (made in Thailand) worth K5,931,200, five kinds of foodstuffs, including 53 cartons of mind rice crispies and chocolate flavor worth K4,496,400, 20 cartons of school dress worth K30 million, two kinds of goods, including 200 cartons of Imperial Leather soap worth K22.08 million, two kinds of goods, including 90 cartons of Wai Wai instant vermicelli worth K10.53 million, two kinds of goods, including 5,000 API-Pyrine Foil pills worth K10.48 million, 6,000 bottles of Vita milk worth K48 million and 4,500 cartons of Napoli cigarette worth K45 million from a Nissan Diesel truck (approximately K30 million) on Mwaytaw Kakku-Kyauktalon road. The action was taken under the Customs Procedures.

On 5 May, a total of 0.676 tonne of illegal teak worth K647,080 was seized in Thayawady district. The action was taken under the Forest Law.

Therefore, 12 arrests (estimated value of K493,807,680) were made on 2, 4 and 5 May, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
