KO Htet, representing Myanmar, secured a deserved victory in Asia Invitational Snooker Championship 2018, which was hosted in Malaysia, from 23 to 29 September.
There were a total of 64 players from 10 countries, participating in the Championship tournament.
In the 32 teams play-off stage, Myanmar beat Malaysia by 4-2, while in the 16 teams play-off stage, Myanmar won Thailand by 5-2.In the 8 teams play-off stage, Myanmar surprisingly beat the favored champion Thailand by 5-3 and stepped up to the semifinal.
In the semifinal, Myanmar struck Malaysia by 6-5 and stepped up to the final.In the final, Myanmar also won two-time championship winner, China, by 6-5, and won the championship title deservedly.
Ko Htet was awarded RM 10000, the championship winner’s prize.
Myanmar’s champion Ko Htet arrived back at the Yangon International Airport yesterday morning and was welcomed by responsible officials from the Myanmar Billiard and Snooker Federation.
