An investigation
of 20 men detained after the stakeout of an area alleged to be a hiding area
for fugitives resulted in the arrest of four people on suspicion of terroristic
activity.
On receipt of a
tip-off the that terrorists and fugitives were hiding in the prawn breeding
ponds between Gordu Thara west and Gordu Thara Chaungwa, a combined team that
includes security forces launched a stakeout starting on the morning of 11
November until the evening, when 20 people arrived and were immediately
detained on suspicion of terrorism. Under the investigation conducted in accord
with rules and regulations, four men, including Marmed Cobi of Myo Thagyi
village in Maungtaw village and Marmed Haron of the village of Du Nyaungbingyi
in Maungtaw Township, were filed under the anti-terrorism law, with the
remaining men under investigation, it was learnt. — Myanmar News Agency
