2nd Amyotha Hluttaw 6th Regular Session Holds its 12th Day Meeting

The possibility of building several bridges in Mandalay and Chin State were among the issues discussed at yesterday’s meeting of the Amyotha Hluttaw in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

U Kyaw Lin, Deputy Minister for Construction replied to the question raised by Daw Hla Htay (a) Daw Ohn Kyi of constituency 4 of Mandalay Region
“The Zawgyi river crossing bridge nearby Sel Gone village is situated on Thargara (east)-Sel Gone-Zay Ywa road between Sel Gone and Zay Ywa villages. If construction of the bridge is to be implemented, it will be of great benefit to 7,000 villagers of 1,477 households in seven villages. It needs to build a reinforced concrete bridge, linking with Han Myint Mo-Ywa Ngan road. Construction was targeted to be built in FY 2018-2019 of Mandalay Region Government, and it will be implemented depending upon the budget allotment.”
The Deputy Minister also answered a question raised by U Myo Htat (a) Salai Myo Htike of constituency 12, Chin State, “If Dai Laung Creek rope bridge near Dat Chaung Wa, Apsa village-tract of Paletwa township in Chin State and Yan Laung Creek rope bridge will be built it will be beneficial to 1734 people of 250 houses in 9 villages. Out of the two bridges, Dai Laung creek rope bridge linking with Sami-Matupi road will be built as the reinforced concrete bridge, with Yan Laung creek rope bridge to be built as a firm rope bridge for motor-cycles to go over, prior to 2020-2021. Yan Laung creek bridge
will be prioritized.”
The Deputy Minister went on to reply to questions raised by Daw Htu Mae of constituency 11, Rakhine State, U Zaw Hein of constituency 7 of Taninthayi Region and U Win Maung of constituency 6 of Magway Region.
Afterward, Mahn Win Khaing Than, Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw, announced that the Union Auditor General Law Amendment (Bill) approved and sent by the Pyithu Hluttaw was sent back with an amendment attached, and it was approved by the Hluttaw with the approval of Amyotha Hluttaw.
Then, U Thein Swe, Chairman of the Government’s Guarantees, Pledges and Undertakings Vetting Committee read out the interim report on the survey in Yangon and Ayeyawady Regions, concerning the question raised by Naw Christ Tun (a) Dr. Arrkar Moe of constituency 7 of Kayin State, “Myanmar International Cooperation Agency.”
Prescriptions 93-101 of Rules and Regulation on Amyotha Hluttaw, 2015 will be strictly exercised and there were 49 farms and factories handed over to MICA. Out of six farms and factories which had made contracts with MICA, five were examined on the ground. Another seven factories contracted with the animal Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department, not with the MICA.”
Afterward, Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw announced that parliamentarians needed to have their names enrolled if they were interested in discussing the interim report of the Government’s Guarantees, Pledges and Undertakings Vetting Committee.
The 13th meeting of 2nd Amyotha Hluttaw 6th regular session will be convened on 17th November, it was learnt.
