AN
OPENING ceremony of the English Language Proficiency Upgrading Course No. 3 for
the government staff was held at the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw
yesterday afternoon.
The
ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Education Dr. Myo Thein Gyi, Deputy
Minister U Win Maw Tun, Directors-General, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Deputy
Directors-General, officials concerned, instructors and trainees.
In
his opening speech at the ceremony, Union Minister Dr. Myo Thein Gyi said that
the MOE was striving to enhance the efficiency of the government staff for the
development of the State. He extended his warm welcome to the trainees
representing ministries and Union-level organizations. The training was
attended by 104 officers and 104 staff. The second course for the English
Proficiency was opened with 70 officers and 55 staff and they were conferred
certificates of English Language Proficiency on 29 May. The Government was
striving for development of the State going hand in hand with people.
As
for the Ministry of Education, efforts were being made to generate an inclusive
quality education system while creating the life-long learning opportunities
for everyone. He believed that the course can help the trainees gain necessary
skills for their improvement at work. Following this, the Minister posed for
commemorative photographs together with the attendees. The course is being
conducted till 28 July.
