Union
Minister for the Office of the Union Government U Thaung Tun, Union Minister
for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye, and Rakhine State
Chief Minister U Nyi Pu inspected Taung Pyo Letwei Relief Camp in Maungtaw
yesterday afternoon. They met the locals and coordinated plans to be carried
out in the region.
The
Union Ministers and Rakhine State Chief Minister then proceeded to Thit Ton Nar
Gwa Sone and Oh Htein villages, where houses are being built for local Myo
races and Hindus. They asked the officials concerned how the process was
proceeding and coordinated for them to attend to their requirements. The Union
Ministers also inspected the houses or those who fled to Bangladesh. They
inspected Hla Poe Khaung Village, where repatriated residents could stay
temporarily after returning to their native villages.
During
the inspection tour, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and
Resettlement U Soe Aung, Permanent Secretary for Labour, Immigration and
Population U Myint Kyaing, Police Brig-Gen Mya Win and UNHCR Assistant
Representative Ms Cacile Srado were accompanied by the ministers and parties.
According
to the pact between the Myanmar and Bangladeshi governments, efforts are being
made in order to scrutinise and accept the people who fled to other countries
and the process of resettlement will be resumed in the last week of January,
