Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win received Belarusian Health Minister Mr Aliaksandr Khajayeu and Agriculture and Food Minister Mr Yury Horlau in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting, they discussed expanding cooperation in producing diagnostic and laboratory equipment under the 2013 MoU between the two Health Ministries, collaboration in medical education, postgraduate training, public health research, fast-track drug registration for Belarus-made products and opportunities for food exports to Myanmar, producing First Aid Medical Boxes and emergency bandages in Myanmar, strengthening medical services, including liver transplantation and expert exchanges, cooperation in training, telemedicine under virtual system, healthcare for maternal and newborns.
They also exchanged views on providing advanced courses, seminars, educational conferences and exchange programmes between the universities of medicine of the two countries, as an academic agreement was signed between the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, and Belarus State Medical University (BSMU) in November.
