MoI Union Minister meets NPE (Yangon) officials

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met officials from the News and Periodicals Enterprise (Yangon) at 2 pm yesterday at the meeting hall of the Printing and Publishing Department on Theinbyu Road, Yangon.

During the meeting, the Union minister emphasized the need to report news with open eyes and ears in pursuit of the current situation of the country in a timely and appropriate manner, rather than sticking rigidly to old conventions. He highlighted the importance of ensuring accuracy and of continuously studying and understanding the policies set by the State. He also conveyed that the Prime Minister places great importance on print media and urged those present to provide the public with trustworthy and reliable information.

Afterwards, responsible officials explained the current state of newspaper production and distribution, followed by the Union minister delivering concluding remarks.
