STATE
COUNSELLOR Daw Aung San Suu Kyi talked about Myanmar-Japan relations, economic
cooperation, development and other matters in interviews with Nikkei Asian
Review and The Mainichi at The Imperial Hotel, Tokyo, yesterday.
The
State Counsellor is currently in Japan after attending the enthronement
ceremony for Emperor Naruhito on Tuesday. She also met Princess Yoko at the
State Guest House yesterday.
In
the afternoon, the State Counsellor visited the Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo and
met with civil servants and students pursuing education in Japan.
She
told them to utilize the skills they will acquire for their nation and its
people, to help with Myanmar’s development in any sector they can, to use their
learning for personal and communal benefit, and urged them to read on the
Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan and other related projects set by the
Union Government. She then took a documentary photo with the students.
Later
in the evening, the State Counsellor attended a banquet for newly enthroned
Emperor Naruhito hosted by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife at
Hotel New Otani.
