The PGDCSM is a six teen-week course meant for civil servants. The course’s curriculum has been drawn under the supervision of the Civil Service Academy’s faculty, academicians, and education experts. It aims to improve employee performance and encourage them to use a practical approach in the workplace. Teachers from the seven faculties under the Civil Service Academy and local academicians will conduct lectures. Arrangements also have been made to facilitate trainees from the accommodation and management sectors. While meeting officials from the administrative, legislative, and judiciary sectors in the Ayeyawady Region, President U Win Myint had said that government employees enjoy salaries, fringe benefits, and other allowances from the State budget. “Therefore, they must be responsible, while enjoying their privileges and carrying out tasks dutifully,” he said.

At the 2018 Conference on Implementing Education Devel opment, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi had said: “Public servants passed through our old education system, and then they reached the level of being public servants; they need to review whether they’ve reached the level required to be good public servants. I hope there are many public servants who are doing this, and it is important that they do so.” “Trainees must follow the guidance of the President and the State Counsellor.

Government employees must possess a spirit of leadership. They will have to take responsibility and ensure accountability for the improvement of the country and the people. Cooperation among the government, the civil servants, and the people is needed and we all must work together to get better results in the interests of the country and its people,” the UCSB chairman said.

“Civil servants are the backbone of the country and can bring about the development of the state. They must endeavor to upgrade their skills in the workplace and keep track of current political affairs so they can serve the interests of the country and fulfill their roles as good civil servants. All civil servants are urged to perform their duties towards fostering the development of the state to the best of their knowledge and skills,” he added.

A total of 117 trainees, comprising 72 men and 45 women, are attending the 16-week course which ends 8 March.
