India’s
Pankaj Advani outclassed his Bengalurumate and sparring partner B Bhaskar
1500-299, clinching victories in the long and short formats to win a record
fourth grand double at the recent IBSF World Billiards Championships in Yangon.
A
total of 35 players from Myanmar participated in the event, with Nay Thway Oo
and Chit Ko Ko entering the 16-player round. Pankaj Advani defeated Chit Ko Ko
1000-588 in the quarter finals. He won one gold medal in the Long Up and
another in the 150 Up format.

Thein Han, the Vice President of the Myanmar Billiards and Snooker Federation,
presented an award to bronze medal winner David Causier from England. Deputy
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Sports, U Kyaw Oo, gave an
award to Sourav Kothan from India, who tied for the bronze medal.
Mr.
Jim Leacy, the Vice President of the IBSF, awarded the silver medal to Baskar
Balachandra from India. Dr. Daw Mya Lay Sein, the Deputy Minister for Health
and the Vice Chair of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, presented the world
champion award to Pankaj Advani.
