KIA member fatally shot in Kutkai

During an area clearance operation in Kutkai Township early Sunday morning, Tatmadaw troops shot and killed a member of the KIA (Kachin Independence Army) armed group, it is learnt.

Tatmadaw troops found a suspect in civilian clothes driving a motorbike about 5,000 meters north-east of Manje village, Monesee village-tract in Kutkai Township and tried to stop the vehicle.
But the rider failed to stop and tried to speed away.
Due to the fire from the authorities, the suspect was shot dead. A KIA uniform and a KIA belt were found in the toolbox of the motorbike.
